The Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival
Children's
Realm
The NEW Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival provides the perfect playground for a child's imagination. A
fantasy world of gallant knights and magical wizards awaits!
A
visit to the Children's Realm offers a memorable experience
and thrills along with a FREE Butter Fly Ride! Each day our Queen
spends time with visitors in the Kingdom telling wonderful
stories, and our good and gracious King bestows knighthood on
all children for their valor and service to the Crown.
The Renaissance Festival has many challenging games for
children and adults alike. Visitors can receive instruction in
the fine art of fencing in the Salle de Arms or test their
skills in archery, the ax, knife or star throw. It's possible
to test one's strength, slay a dragon or throw a spear at the
Festival, or try one of the people-powered rides - The Wild
Boar Swing, The Crows Nest, and Hippogriff swing.
In addition to games and rides, the Festival offers many fine
crafts that may appeal to children: wooden
puzzles, garlands, wooden swords and shields, face painting,
crystal styx, ocarinas, puzzle rings, costumes and hats.
Tempting treats for the kids include: Squire Dogs, cookies,
ice cream sandwiches, milk, brownies, corn on
the cob, pickles, pretzels, root beer floats, pizza, chicken and chips, not to mention delicious orange and
strawberry Icees!
